About Desk Plants
Our mission is to help improve your work space to allow you to feel happier and breathe healthier air on the job. By working with low maintenance plants that have been clinically studied by major institutions around the world including NASA, Desk Plants provides that important connection to nature indoors.
Let's face it, the average office atmosphere is stale and doesn't inspire people to reach their potential. In addition to that, most commercial buildings contain harmful airborne toxins, known as Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), that can have serious negative impacts on long term health. After seeing similarly uninspiring trends in almost every corporate office environment, founder Lawrence Hanley decided it was time to make a difference. Based on a groundbreaking study conducted by NASA, it was found that plants can filter out large amounts of VOCs within interior spaces. It is this study that inspired our selection of plants we offer to help people feel better at work. And don't worry, you don't have to be a "green thumb" to harness the benefits of live plants, we've got you covered there!
One of the most common complaints we hear from people is that they can't keep plants alive. Don't feel bad about that, it's hard enough trying to stay on top of a career and a social life, let alone training to be a botanist at home. That's why we have curated a selection of plants that naturally thrive within indoor environments. We are here to be a resource to everyone, regardless of where you buy your plants as we provide plenty of plant care guides and are here to answer any specific questions you have about your plants.
By offering our products online, we take the hassle out of everything associated with having to find a nursery in an urban area to buy a plant for your desk. Your success is our success, we not only bring the potted plants to you from our greenhouse here in Austin, but we include a detailed plant care card with every plant and guarantee every plant for 45 days upon receipt*.
