Arabica Coffee Plant

Caring for Your Coffee Plant

Follow these guidelines to keep your Coffee Plant healthy and thriving. This guide covers everything from watering to light, temperature, humidity, and additional care tips to help your Coffee Plant flourish.

Coffee Plant Care

LIGHT
Your Coffee Plant thrives in bright, indirect light, reflecting its natural habitat in the lower canopies of Ethiopian forests. Be cautious with direct sunlight, as it can cause the leaves to brown.

WATER
Your Coffee Plant appreciates regular watering. Wait until about 25% of the soil volume is dry before watering. Ensure water flows through the drainage hole at the bottom of the pot, and always empty any excess water from the saucer.

HUMIDITY
Coffee Plants flourish in humid environments. Daily misting or placing a humidifier nearby is beneficial. If the leaves begin to brown, it could indicate low humidity.

TEMPERATURE
Coffee Plants thrive best in temperatures ranging from 65 to 80°F.

FOOD
Feed your Coffee Plant once a month during the spring and summer with a liquid fertilizer diluted to half strength.

TOXICITY
The leaves of the Coffee Plant are toxic to both pets and humans.

ADDITIONAL CARE
While Coffee Plants don’t require extensive pruning, a light trim each spring will encourage fuller growth in the upcoming year.
